Student's MAPS test from the beginning of the year were uploading into edgenuity and assignments were created specifically for each student. We will be working in these folders today to prepare for the MAPS Reading test they will take on Wednesday this week.

Social Studies: Start Week 18: Communities and Resources

Students will describe and explain variations in the physical environment (natural resources). They will discuss the differences between renewable and nonrenewable resources and ways people use and conserve those resources.

Listen to articles and answer questions for each article on studiesweekly.com. Find and highlight the answers to the questions in the article to be used for the test on Friday.


Science: Unit 7 : Lesson 1 What are Some Natural Resources? pages 303-316

  • Define and explain the term natural resources.

  • Identify air, water, plants, animals, soil, and fossil fuels as natural resources.

  • Identify resources that are used as sources of energy, including sunlight, water, wind, coal, oil, natural gas, and wood.

  • Define and identify renewable resources, reusable resources, and nonrenewable resources.

  • Explain the importance of conserving resources.

  • Identify air, land, and water pollution.

  • Explain ways to protect resources including reusing, recycling, and reducing.

IXL- one reading and one math (assignments that I have a star on show up under the recommendations tab)
