Math: Go Math Module 9 Lesson 2: Multiplication Strategies with Multiples of 10/ Pages 281-286

Use strategies and algorithms, including the standard algorithm, to multiply a two-digit number by a one-digit number. Strategies may include mental math, partial products, and the commutative, associative, and distributive properties.

  • Respond to newly acquired vocabulary as appropriate. 
  • Establish a purpose for reading assigned and self-selected texts. 
  • Explain how the use of text structure contributes to the author’s purpose. 
  • Evaluate details read to determine key ideas.
  • Generate questions about text before, during, and after reading to deepen understanding and gain information.

Social Studies: Continue Week 17: Communities in Change

Students will discuss what makes a community and why people form communities. They will describe and explain variations in the physical environment (climate) and interpret a climate map of Texas.

Listen to articles and answer questions for each article on studiesweekly.com. Find and highlight the answers to the questions in the article to be used for the test on Friday.

  • Explain how fires, landslides, and floods affects living things.

  • Describe how volcanoes, earthquakes, floods, and landslides can affect Earth's surface.

  • Explain what causes earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
